Union Government launched TIW


Union Minister (Electronics, IT, law & Justice) Ravi S. Prasad on 15th July 2016 launched a new website. The website is named Transforming India. Its URL is . It is a real-time website. The impact of numerous governance initiatives is shared among citizens. It has a user-friendly format with information. The contents are in form of e-books, videos, performance dashboard etc. It also shares daily news on new initiatives. It will enable mutual communication between citizens and government. Users can also share opinions regarding initiatives. All major decisions & policies will be shared with citizens via this website. It will include features like live events, weekly summary etc.



Nelson Mandela- International Day celebrated


NM- International Day was celebrated across the globe on 18th July 2016. It is observed in honour of Noble Peace Laureate Mandela. The objective of this day is to inspire individuals for making the world better. This day was first observed in the year 2010. The day was agreed as per the UN Assembly resolution 2009. Nelson Mandela was known for his contribution towards culturing of freedom & peace. He was former president of South Africa. Mandela worked in the fields of conflict resolution and human rights protection. He is also known for his work across race relations.


Indian Railways developed TRI-NETRA


The Railways Ministry successfully developed TRI-NETRA system on 17th July 2016. The objective is to enhance vision of pilots during bad weather. TRI-NETRA is (Terrain imaging for diesel drivers infra-red, Enhanced optical & Radar Assisted) system. It has two cameras, infra-red and high-resolution. It also contains radar-based TMS (terrain mapping system). These parts act as 3 eyes for locomotive pilot. A composite video-image will be displayed. This image will help the pilots to see terrain ahead. The images will also indicate incoming stations or other signals.


Guruprasad Mohapatra elected AAI Chairman


Guruprasad Mohapatra was elected AAI Chairman on 15th July 2016. He will take this position at AAI (Airports Authority of India) from 19th July 2016. He is an Odisha-born bureaucrat and IAS officer from Gujarat Cadre. Previously, he worked with Commerce Ministry as the Joint Secretary. He has also worked with the Sales Tax, Commercial tax and transport departments. He was also Joint MD of GIDC. He served as AMC (Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner) for 3 years in Gujarat. He holds an MPhil, MBA and MA degree. He has worked in companies such as GEB and GSEC.


Netherlands-UP ink agreement


Uttar Pradesh and Netherlands inked an agreement on 14th July 2016. A MoU was signed for development SDC for farmers. The SDC (skill development centre) will improve farming and agricultural knowledge of farmers. They will be given understanding on food processing for higher quality production. Netherland will also provide high-end farming equipment. Modern equipment will boost potato, dairy, sugarcane and flower production. The government of Dutch will also support the Yamuna cleaning process. It will involve in sewage treatment, waste and transport management, water supply etc.
