Sudhanshu Mani elected as Integral Coach Factory’s General Manager
Sudhanshu Mani has been elected as Integral Coach Factory’s General Manager. The appointment was announced on 3rd August 2016. Mani was previously working with RWF (Rail Wheel Factory). He was the CME (Chief Mechanical Engineer) based out of Bengaluru. Mani is a 1979 pass out of IRSME (Indian Railways Service of Mechanical Engineers). He has more than 36 years’ experience with Indian Railways. His areas of expertise are railway operations, workshop management, planning, project and R&D. ICF is the only company in India manufacturing rail coaches. It is based in Tamil Nadu. ICF was formed in the year 1952. Indian Railways own and operate ICF. It has two major divisions: Furnishing division & Shell Division.
Pushpa K Dahal ‘Prachanda’ selected as Nepal’s 39th Prime Minister
Pushpa K Dahal ‘Prachanda’ was selected as Nepal’s 39th Prime Minister. The announcement came on 4th August 2016. He is the Maoist Chairman of CPN (Communist Party of Nepal). He was the only claimant for the Prime Minister post. His candidacy was filed on 2nd August 2016 at the Nepal PS (Parliamentary Secretariat). Dahal received 363 votes out of total 595. He got backing from Nepali Congress, Federal Alliance and UDMF (United Democratic Madhesi Front). Pushpa was Nepal’s Prime Minister between 2008 and 2009.
Narsingh Yadav cleared for the Rio Olympics
On 3rd August 2016, Narsingh Yadav was cleared for the Rio Olympics. The clearance came from UWW (United Worlds Wrestling). He will be taking part in the 74 kg weight-category. However, his final eligibility will be decided by WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency). Once the case is studied, it will be appealed to the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sports) in 21 days. CAS is constituted for rendering quicker decisions during Olympics. If WADA decides to go against the CAS then final decision will take longer to furnish. Yadav was exonerated from NADA (National Anti-Doping Agency) on 1st August 2016.
Shubha Mudgal will be given RGN (Rajiv Gandhi National Sadbhavana) Award
On 30th 2016, it was announced that Shubha Mudgal will receive RGN (Rajiv Gandhi National Sadbhavana) Award. The decision was taken by the RGNSA advisory committee on 30th July 2016. The award will be given for her remarkable involvement towards promoting communal harmony, goodwill and peace. Shubha is a famous Indian singer. She is known for classic music like Dadra, Thumri, and Khayal etc. She is also known for her off-beat pop music. She will be given this award on 20th August 2016.
Understanding GST and Its Implications
GST Bill (122nd Constitutional Amendment Bill) was given a green signal by Rajya Sabha. It is regarded as the biggest ITR (indirect tax reform) since India’s independence. Except AIADMK, all parties supported the bill. The inception of this bill was in 200. The then PM AB Vajpayee established a committee. The GST will transform the nation into a unified market. Most indirect taxes will be replaced by just one tax. GST will have both central government and state government components. It is expected to transform India’s tax scenario positively.
