Candidates who have enrolled for this exam must be eager to know the exact syllabus of NDA Exam 2016 so that they can excel and overcome the challenges of the written test. The following article intend to guide the candidates in terms of the NDA examination paper along with its section.
The written exam of NDA (II) 2016 exam will be held on 18th September 2016.
First of all, every candidate must be aware of the fact that NDA Written Exam consists of two papers-
- Mathematics – 300 Marks
- General Ability Test – 600 marks
UPSC NDA Exam Syllabus 2016
1) Syllabus for Mathematics Paper – 300 Marks
The Mathematics is the first paper in the written test. Candidates are expected to know the chapters which are usually taught till class XII or 10 + 2 standard. Some of the key areas from where questions are commonly asked are Algebra, Differential Calculus and Statistics & Probability. The complete syllabus for this paper is:

2) Syllabus for General Ability Test – 600 marks
The duration of this paper is for 2 hours and 30 minutes. However, its syllabus encompasses everything that a candidate has learnt upto Class 10 + 2. The paper is divided into two sections, Part A and Part B. Here is the complete syllabus for the General Ability Test Paper
Part A – English – 200 marks

Part B – General Knowledge – 400 marks
The General Knowledge section compromises of 6 sections. These sections include subjects such as Physics, Social Studies, Current Events, Geography, Chemistry and General Science. The syllabus for the same follows below:
Section A
The first section is for Physics. The scope of its syllabus includes the following:
Laws of Motion | Mass, Density, Volume | Gravitation | Effects of Heat |

Section B
The second section is for Chemistry. A candidate should be well versed with the following:

Section C
The third section is for General Science. The following chapters are important-

Section D
The fourth section is for Indian History and freedom movements. Candidate should know the following:

Section E
The fifth section has been reserved for Geography. A candidate is expected to know the following:

Section F
The last section is for Current Events. This section includes questions based on the latest happenings around the world.

Questions in paper –II will be assigned on the basis of weightage. Sections mentioned in Part B will have 25%, 15%, 10%, 20% & 10% as weightage.
