India, Qatar MoU on tourism approved by Union Cabinet


A MoU was signed between Qatar and India on 1st June 2016 after the approval from Union cabinet. This MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed with the objective of improving the cooperation among participating nations in the Tourism field. This MoU will help in creating favorable environment for long term cooperation and mutual benefit in Tourism field. Under this understanding, both nations will exchange their publications, expertise, data, statistics and information related to the tourism sector. It is enable the upliftment of the tourism sector through cooperative exchange of propaganda, programs, marketing and promotion and advertisements of the tourism industry of both nations. It will also enable two-way visits of media, opinion makers and tour operations for promotion.


MoU between FCAA (French Civil Aviation Authority) and DGCA approved by Union Cabinet


On 1st June 106, a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) between the FCAA (French Civil Aviation Authority) and DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation of India) was approved by Union Cabinet of India. The objective behind signing this MoU was implementing the TCP (Technical Cooperation Program) for the promotion as well as implementation of the recommended practices and standards of the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization). This TCP will be beneficial in enhancing the expertise and skills of the officers of DGCA. This will also benefit mutual understanding between the parties for conducting training for managers, technicians and engineers. The validity of this MoU will be for four years.


KP Mathur, Indira Gandhi’s personal physician releases a book on the life of the former Prime Minister


During the last week of May 2016, (Dr.) KP Mathur released a book titles ‘The Unseen Indira Gandhi’. Mathur served as late Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s personal physician for almost 20 years before she was assassinated in 1984. Konark Publishers published the book. The book shares some interesting details into the political and personal challenges faced by Indira Gandhi and how she responded to them. This book is of 151 pages with the fore work written by Priyanka G. Vadra, granddaughter of Indira Gandhi.


Anti-Drug Campaign by Kerala Government to use the name of Sachin Tendulkar


On 1st June 2016, Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan announced that Anti-Drug Campaign launched by the Kerala Government will be using the name of Sachin Tendulkar. The CM announced approval and consent of the cricketer in using his name that will help in strengthening this campaign against drug abuse and liquor intoxication in Kerala. Tendulkar is one of the co-owners of KBFC (Kerala Blasters Football Club) Football Club.


Rahul Johri elected as BCCI’s first CEO


On 1st June 2016, Rahul Johri was elected the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), a position that did not existed in the organization until now. Rahul was appointed as the CEO after recommendations from the JLC (Justice Lodha Committee). Rahul will be reposting to Ajay Shirke, BCCI secretary and will be working at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai. His major responsibility will include smooth workflow of operations, establishing extensive strategies for sports promotion and stakeholder management.
