An Analysis of SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern 2016

Negative Marking: The exam pattern is simply intended to handpick candidates who are smart as well as intelligent. With 200 questions on offer, candidates will have a leverage in picking up their strong areas as answering all the questions within the given time frame is next to impossible. Moreover, presence of negative marking will make the situation tougher for the candidates to play the guessing game. For every wrong answer, the authority will deduce 0.25 or 1/4th of a mark.

Presence of sections suggests that their will sectional cut offs as well. This means that a candidate has to devote time to each section. However 100 questions in the English language is a hint towards investing more than an hour in the other two sections. The most time saving section will be General Awareness, where you either ‘know’ an answer or you ‘don’t’. The most challenging part of the exam is to handle the General Intelligence section as it will test the patience of a candidate with long questions and tricky solutions. A candidate has to maintain his composure and balance the time consumption in this section.
